Have you ever heard that a vegetarian and a vegan are the same? Well that is a false statement. A vegan and a vegetarian have similar morals yet different eating habits.
A vegetarian is a person who does not eat meat, fish, or poultry; however, vegetarians normally eat dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cheese, and eggs. Vegetarians don’t always cut meat out of their diet because of their love for animals but because of other reasons. The most common reason for a person to become a vegetarian is for health reasons. People generally think that vegetarians are the same; however, there are three different types of vegetarians groups. Lacto-Vegetarians consume dairy products but will not consume eggs. Ovo-Vegetarians consume eggs but they will not consume any dairy products. A Lacto-Ovo vegetarian will consume both eggs and dairy products. A vegetarian person is placed into a certain group based on if their choice is for health reasons or if it is because moral issue.
Veganism is an extreme form of vegetarianism. A vegan’s diet excludes meat, eggs, dairy products, and other animal-derived ingredients. A vegan’s diet includes grains, beans, legumes, vegetables, and fruits. Most vegans will not buy products such as makeup or hair products that were tested on animals. Vegans are terribly obsessed with keeping a high standard of human and animal life. A vegan’s point of view is generally, that animals are not placed here to be exploited by men but to live in harmony with humans. A vegan is a person who is extremely sensitive about what they eat, wear, and buy. A vegan, who lives a vegan lifestyle, won’t wear anything made of leather, silk, or wool because of the use of animals.
